President's Message
One of the most distinctive features of the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary is our commitment to being centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our desire to serve in various ministries in the Church. Throughout these pages you will discover a great deal about our history, faculty, programs, and facilities. You will discover that our curriculum grounds students in the Scriptures, tradition, and ministerial practices of the church. What you will not find unless you visit our campus, however, is the powerful way that this community exists as a community of faith... "Grounded in Tradition; Growing in Christ."
Should you feel called to the University of Dubuque Seminary for your theological education, there are several facts that you should know.
· First, a great majority of our graduates are placed within six months of graduation.
· Second, our graduates have an outstanding record of success in pastoral ministry.
· Third, we are the first and only seminary of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) that is accredited to provide a Distance Master of Divinity degree.
· Fourth, our unique blend of students from Presbyterian, United Methodist, Congregational, Disciples, and other denominations offers a unique opportunity to acquire the skills to practice ministry in an ecumenical community.
· Fifth, we are the only seminary of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) that is part of a University.
· Finally, if you have a family, it will be important for you to know that your family will live in a community where, literally, your children will walk to school and enjoy the supportive friendship and fellowship of many other second-career families.
This is just a sample of who we are as the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. I hope you take the opportunity to get to know us better through a campus visit, a telephone conversation, or an "extended" stay on our campus!
Cordially,

Jeffrey Bullock
