The Master of Divinity (MDiv)
The Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree roots Christian leaders in the Scriptures, tradition, and practices of the church with an overarching focus on building missional communities that form fervent disciples. The MDiv prepares people for ordination in most Protestant communions. Both the residential and distance programs are designed for working adults, for those in bi-vocational ministry, and the distance program may be completed in three or four years, while the residential program is completed in four years.
Although a student may begin during the spring term, both residential and distance students are strongly encouraged to begin with the August Residency.
All Master of Divinity students attend a yearly two week residency on campus in Dubuque, giving students opportunities to connect in person with both distance and residential students, faculty, alumni, and staff.
