UD Achieves Record Enrollment

As students converged on campus for New Student Orientation, August 19-22, it became clear - without even looking at the official numbers - that enrollment was at an all-time high. During those four days, a record number of students moved into their residence halls, registered for classes, and participated in the many co-curricular and curricular activities designed to make their transition to college life a bit easier.

With the start of classes on August 23, the University of Dubuque embarked on its 153rd year. Over 1400 students from 35 states and 20 international locations have made the University their home and represent the largest overall enrollment in the University's history. This year's entering class of 430 new students is the largest entering class.

"To say the least, we are grateful and pleased with this year's record enrollment numbers," stated President Jeffrey F. Bullock. "Over the past five years, our enrollment transformation has been remarkable. We continue to be one of the fastest growing schools in the region, thanks to the many individuals who dedicate their time to seeing that UD is the right fit for each and every incoming student and thanks to the students and families who choose this place as their college home."

Following the trend of the past five years, enrollment has steadily increased. As of the 10th day of the semester, enrollment numbers reflected 1101 undergraduate (1046 full-time and 55 part-time); 141 seminarians (135 full-time and 6 part-time); 43 doctor of ministry students; 101 graduate students (41 full-time and 60 part-time) in on-campus MBA and MAC programs; and 64 in the Hong Kong MBA program; for a total University of Dubuque enrollment of 1450. This years enrollment is an increase of 9% over Fall of 2003, and a 62.5% growth since the Fall of 1999.
