Ward Appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College

President Jeffrey F. Bullock today announced the appointment of Mark Ward, associate provost of Trinity Christian College (TCC), as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College at the University of Dubuque. Ward will begin service at the University mid-summer, 2010; he succeeds John R. Stewart who retires on June 1, 2010.

"We have been enormously blessed by John Stewart's leadership these past nine years," commented President Bullock. "I believe that Mark Ward can build on the foundation that John has put in place and will help us open the next chapter in our forward movement - forever better. He comes to us with a strong commitment to the Reformed Christian tradition in mission in higher education, as well as with extensive institutional experience at TCC both as a faculty member and as an administrator."

Mark Ward earned his bachelor's degree from Calvin College, a master of business administration degree from the University of Denver, and a doctorate in business administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Ward has been a member of the Trinity Christian College (TCC), Palos Heights, Illinois, faculty since 1984, received tenure and was promoted to professor of economics and business in 1999, and has served as associate provost since 2004.

"I am honored to be joining the University of Dubuque family," stated Ward upon his appointment. "The University has a strong commitment to students, preparing them for a future of change with an education of significance. I look forward to working with faculty and staff in continuing to make the University of Dubuque a great place to learn and work."
