Department of Natural and Applied Sciences to Host Fall Seminar Series

The Department of Natural and Applied Science will host a Fall Seminar Series, beginning on Friday, September 26 on the University of Dubuque campus.
"The Department of Natural and Applied Sciences is pleased to offer the community an opportunity to regularly engage with science through our seminar series," stated Dr. Gerald Zuercher, associate professor of vertebrate ecology. "We are striving to bring representatives from the diverse spectrum of scientific disciplines and intend to continue with this seminar series, on a semester-by-semester basis. This fall, we are excited to showcase chemistry, biology, and geology and we are working on a final set of presenters for the spring."
Each seminar in the fall series will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Room 105 of the University Science Center. Refreshments will be provided. Details are as follows:

Dr. Chanaka Mendis, associate professor of biochemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Engineering Physics, University of Wisconsin, Platteville

John Tucker, researcher with the Illinois Natural History Survey
Tucker studies amphibians and reptiles in Illinois, especially those that are endangered and threatened.
