University of Dubuque Adds Five New Planes to Its Fleet

This week, the University of Dubuque took delivery of five new Cessna 172 SP glass cockpit aircraft that will be used for primary and instrument training. Cessna's 172 SP Skyhawk cruises at 122 knots, has seating for four passengers, and is equipped with a Garmin C,1000 avionics package with the most advanced, fully capable suite of equipment ever assembled in this category of aircraft.
The addition of these state-of-the-art airplanes increases the University's fleet to 23. UD's Flight Operations Center is located at the Dubuque Regional Airport on Hwy. 61 just south of the city.
Steven Accinelli, director of the aviation program commented, "Our fleet of Cessna 172 SP Skyhawks are excellent trainers and are equipped with the latest glass cockpit avionics. These aircraft perform well and hold up to the rigors of primary pilot training. Cessna has been accommodating and great to work with. We are pleased to be able to bring five new Skyhawks into our fleet this year which join the five on which we took delivery last summer."
