UD to Hold Annual Christmas on the Quad Celebration

Nov 30, 2009 | University of Dubuque Theological Seminary

The University of Dubuque will hold its annual Christmas on the Quad celebration on Wednesday, December 9, from 4:00 - 5:15 p.m. An encore celebration will be held on Friday, December 11, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

A University of Dubuque tradition since 1997, Christmas on the Quad is a wondrous celebration where students, faculty, staff, trustees, neighbors, alumni, and friends come together to begin the season of Advent and to prepare for the coming of Christmas.

An important part of the celebration on the Wednesday evening is the lighting of the University Christmas Tree known as the "Bruce Spruce," named for J. Bruce Meriwether, former Board chair, Interim President 1996-98, and the initiator of Christmas on the Quad.

Both celebrations will conclude with refreshments and fellowship in Blades Hall. Please mark your calendars so that you may join us in a joyful start to this holiday season.
