UD Army ROTC to Hold Halloween Fun Run/Walk

Oct 18, 2010 | University of Dubuque Theological Seminary

The University's U. S. Army ROTC Detachment along with the 1/133rd Family Readiness Groups will host their First Annual Halloween Costume Fun Run/Walk on Thursday, October 28 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. The event will take place on a marked route around the University of Dubuque campus.

The event will support the United States Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots program and the soldiers of the 133rd Infantry Battalion deployed to Afghanistan. Participants should come in costume and bring a toy to donate for an underprivileged child in the Dubuque area, or an item to send a locally deployed soldier in a Holiday care package. Prizes will be given for best costume in the following age groups: 0-3, 3-5, 5-10, 10-15, 15-18, and 18-25.

"The UD ROTC program is looking forward to the opportunity to give back to our community and to our deployed soldiers," commented ROTC Cadet Meaghan Kelly, a junior communication major from St. Louis, MO. "We're hoping for a large turnout of students and individuals from the local community in support of this effort."
