UD Enactus Team Hosts a Dance-A-Thon

On Saturday, March 2, members of the University of Dubuque Enactus (formerly known as SIFE) Team will be hosting a Dance-A-Thon in the University of Dubuque's McCormick Gymnasium from 12:00 noon - 8:00 p.m. in hopes to raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy.
"We learned that it does not require huge amounts of capital, or hundreds of hours of ‘person-power' to make a difference in someone's dreams," commented Audrey Woodward, a University of Dubuque student Enactus member in charge of the event. "It's exciting that Enactus is a ‘global initiative,' - that projects like this can happen in towns and cities all over the world. It's great to see how teamwork and a common goal can make a huge difference in an outcome."
Throughout the duration of the event, there will be live and silent auctions, live entertainment - hypnotist, Brent Husmann - guest speakers, raffles, games, prizes, dancing, and more! The event is open to the public, with a $5 general entry fee, and a $3 student entry fee with a student ID.
Founded in 1975, Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), now Enactus, is a global non-profit organization which works in partnership with businesses and higher education to provide college students the opportunity to make a difference and to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning along with practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise. Active on more than 1,200 college and university campuses in 31 countries, Enactus teams work to develop and implement thousands of educational outreach projects in their communities.
Locally, the University of Dubuque team was founded in 2002. Since then, the team has successfully competed at the Regional Competition winning several awards including runner-up in 2004 and 2005; and in 2012, the team made it to Nationals after placing at the Regional Competition.
