University of Dubuque Theological Seminary Hosts Mission Conference

Mar 4, 2013 | University of Dubuque Theological Seminary

The University of Dubuque Theological Seminary will host a Spring Mission Conference on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13 on the University of Dubuque campus.  The focus of the conference is "Sharing Good News and Good Nurture," and will emphasize contemporary approaches for evangelism and discipleship in the church today. The conference is open to the public.

The special speaker for this conference is Dr. Eric Hoey, director of Church Growth and Evangelism for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  His hope is to build a culture of faith sharing among individuals in the church who have a passion for church growth and spreading the Gospel.

The Mission Conference will feature two lectures - on the topics of "Overcoming Fears in Evangelism" (7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12), and "Discipleship" (11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 13) as well as opportunities for more focused conversation with Dr. Hoey.  Hoey will also preach in the UDTS chapel on March 13 at 9:40 a.m., where the UDTS Mission Team to the Dominican Republic will be commissioned.  Both lectures and the chapel service will be held in Blades Hall on the UD campus.
