UD Slates Fall Theatre Production

The University of Dubuque Fine and Performing Arts Department and the UD Drama Club will present The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as its Fall 2012 production - a production conceived by Rebecca Feldman, with original music and lyrics by William Finn, and book by Rachel Sheinkin. The show was originally produced on Broadway by David Stone, James L. Nederlander, Barbara Whitman, Patrick Catullo, Barrington Stage Company, and Second Stage Theatre.
UD Receives $13.5 Million for New Housing and an Indoor Intramural /Practice Facility

Dubuque Symphony to Join With the Columbus Symphony to Open UD's Performing Arts and Campus Center

UD for KIDS Record Enrollment Year

The summer 2012 UD for KIDS program is now in full swing - bringing young students from first through seventh grade to the University Campus. Grades 1-2 were present for the program's first week - June 18-22; grades 3-4 are on campus this week - June 25-29; and grades 5-7 will attend classes July 9-13. Classes are held daily from 12:30-4:00 p.m. at various campus locations. For the first time ever, UD for KIDS closed enrollment in March and April due to an overwhelming response. Classes filled extremely quickly - with a current enrollment of 802 students.

Jennifer Supple Bartels, teaching specialist in communication, was recognized with the John Knox Coit Prize, and Richard Birkenbeuel, director of the domestic and international MBA programs and associate professor of business, was recognized with the William Lomax Award.
UD ROTC Commissions Cadets

Ten U.S. Army ROTC cadets will be commissioned as Second Lieutenants during a May 10, 2012 ceremony at the University of Dubuque. The ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. in Steffens Hall of the Charles and Romona Myers Center, and will feature Colonel Timothy Higgins as the keynote speaker.
