"Field work is an important aspect of theological education. It is one of the rst places where we begin to form the habits which we will carry with us throughout our ministries. Therefore we seek to place an emphasis on learning how to understand our ministry in the light of Scripture, Theology and Church History. Field Education offers an important opportunity for theological and spiritual formation as we come to deal with the challenges and joys of various ministry settings."

Philip Jamieson is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. A member of East Ohio Annual Conference, he has served in a variety of parish settings. Besides the relationship between the classical theological disciplines and eld education, Dr. Jamieson is interested in the role of the imagination in Christian faith and Christianity and popular culture.
