Little Shop of Horrors is a rock musical, by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, about a hapless floral shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood.  The musical is based on the 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman, screenplay by Charles Girffith.  The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop, and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, "Skid Row (Downtown)", "Somewhere That's Green", and Suddenly, Seymour".

The show's cast includes Jed Omernick (Ellison Bay, Wisconsin) as Mushnik, Kris Doss (Clinton, Iowa) as Seymour, Kayla Hamilton (Eldridge, Iowa) as Audrey, Brandon Winter (Clinton, Iowa) as Orin Scrivello, DDS, Anna Rechtenbach (Peosta, Iowa) as Ronnette, Lindsey Reiter (Dubuque, Iowa) as Crystal, Melissa Whitney (Davis, Illinois) as Chiffon, and Ally Machala (Richland, Iowa), Ranita Anderson (Dolton, Illinois), James Thomas (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), Tyler Robey (East Dubuque, Illinois), Tyrone Russell (Chicago, Illinois), and Andrew Kendell (Bellevue, Iowa) as members of the ensemble.  The show is directed by Amy Ressler, professor of fine and performing arts, and stage managed by Taylor Isham (South Elgin, Illinois).

The show will run three nights, October 27, 28, and 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall.  This event is free and open to the public.  (Please note, this production is not intended for young children under the age of eight.)
