UD Hosts Career Professionals of Iowa Conference

The University of Dubuque's Career & Life Service Office will host the 2012 Career Professionals of Iowa Conference, to be held on Thursday, July 12 and Friday, July 13 at the Grand River Center in the Port of Dubuque. 

"This annual event supports professional development and sharing of ‘best practices' among those serving students and alumni within the field of career development and exploratory learning," commented Amy Baus, director of Career and Life Services.  "Over fifty-two master and doctoral level professionals will be attending, representing twenty-seven higher educational institutions across the State of Iowa." 

The conference will provide guest speaking engagements by Dr. Mick Miyamoto, vice president and dean of students at the University of Dubuque, Dubuque Mayor Roy Buol; and Keith Williams, human resources location leader, and Tom Coffas, director of cross-competency services from the IBM Dubuque Delivery Center.

Programming for the conference will also include a menu of twelve educational breakout sessions, as well as employer site visits, to such locations as; Woodward Communication/Telegraph Herald; Cottingham & Butler; McCullough Creative, Inc.; and Prudential.
