UD to Host First Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship and Creativity

On Thursday, April 18, the University of Dubuque will host Apex: The First Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship and Creativity. The event will be held in the University Science Center's Atrium and Zucker Auditorium, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
This day-long event celebrates the many students whose research and creative work goes above and beyond the classroom. Students being celebrated include those who have presented at conferences, published scholarly or creative work, been invited to exhibit or read art, or acted in performances off campus. Scholar Leader projects and students who have received honors or recognition from outside agencies will also be celebrated.
The day will begin with an open forum of student work and an opportunity to meet with participating student scholars. Event highlights include presentations by three students on the summaries of their research; introduction of the 2013 Chlapaty Scholars; and a keynote presentation by Andrew Satterlee (C'09) on "Turtles, Crabs, and Feral Hogs: How My Experiences as a UD Undergraduate Researcher Helped Me Find My Vocation."
