Application Process

Applicants for the MDIV and MAMD Programs must:

  • Complete a University of Dubuque Theological Seminary application form compose and attach two essays, each 500 to 750 words in length, according to the directions. Essay one is regarding Christian Identity and Service and Essay two concernsyour areas of Theological Interest.

  • Provide three letters of recommendation from the following persons
    - A pastor 
    - A professor (or if out of school for five years, a person who can comment on applicants ability to complete Master’s level work.)
    - A friend or colleague

  • Submit an official transcript from each college, university or seminary previously attended; or if currently enrolled as a student, provide a letter of academic standing.

  • Submit a nonrefundable $30 application fee which may be paid either; online through PayPal, a check or money order, or by calling with credit card. If paying by credit card, call student accounts at 563.589.3212, or if paying by check or money order send to:

  • Complete a background check

  • Upon acceptance, submit a nonrefundable enrollment fee

  • Required faculty and admissions director interview

  • Complete self-disclosure form 

Applicants for the 3/2 and 3/3 Program must:

  • Complete a University of Dubuque application form
  • Complete a University of Dubuque Theological Seminary application form compose and attach two essays, each 500 to 750 words in length, according to the directions. Essay one is regarding Christian Identity and Service and Essay two concerns your areas of Theological Interest.

Applicants for DMin Program must:

  • Compose a personal statement

  • Provide 5 letters of recommendation from the following persons:
    - Congregation
    - Judicatory
    - Academic
    -Colleague (2)

  • Submit an official transcript from each college, university or seminary attended

  • Required faculty and admissions director interview

  • Submit $50 nonrefundable application fee which may be paid either; online through PayPal, a check or money order, or by calling with credit card.   If paying by credit card, call student accounts at 563.589.3212, or if paying by check or money order send to:

Applicants for Non-Degree/Unclassified courses must:

  • Complete an Unclassified student application form

  • Complete Unclassified student course registration form

  • Compose a 500 word narrative statement of intent

  • Provide 1 letter of recommendation:
    - A pastor
    - A professor
    - A colleague
     
  • Submit an official transcript from most recent college, university or seminary

  • Submit a $30 nonrefundable application fee

  • Courses must be paid in full by the designated add/drop date.  All payments and fees for Unclassified students can be arranged through Student Accounts. If paying by credit card, call student accounts at 563.589.3212, or if paying by check or money order send to:
