Construction of Mercer-Birmingham Hall Underway

The University of Dubuque is currently is making excellent progress on the construction of the newest addition to the campus physical plant, Mercer-Birmingham Hall. This new construction is made possible through the generous gift of $1.5 million from Joe ('68) and Linda Chlapaty and memorializes acclaimed University of Dubuque coaches Kenneth 'Moco' Mercer and Don Birmingham.

Senior British Foreign Policy Expert to Speak at UD

Hale-Byrne will speak on world politics, international relations, the field of intelligence, and American and British Foreign Policy. UD Army ROTC Cadet Shawn R. Quillen (C'10) has been awarded the Iowa Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Governor's Cup Award for outstanding achievement. Quillen was one of eight cadets from the State of Iowa to receive the award, which was presented at the State Capitol in Des Moines on Wednesday, May 5, 2010.

The award is the U.S. Government's highest recognition given to employers for exceptional support of their employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. Bullock today announced the appointment of Mark Ward, associate provost of Trinity Christian College (TCC), as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College at the University of Dubuque. Ward will begin service at the University mid-summer, 2010; he succeeds John R. Stewart who retires on June 1, 2010.
